Poetry, curved lines and nature: incorporating sensitivity into decoration!

Like any self-respecting artistic movement, Art Nouveau was born out of the desire to break ties with industrialisation at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. And what could be more contrary to industry than nature itself? Trees, flowers, animals and women - perceived as nature's muse - bring rhythm to this art which is meant to be diverse and open-minded. Curved lines twirl and intertwine with stylised floral motifs. Posters, architecture, furniture, fashion, signage... so many areas are touched at the heart of this poetic art.
